This is a story that is beautifully written and kicks your imaginative brain into high gear. QUE this line: Only his eyes changed. His pupils dilated, big liquid pools cracking like black yolks, spilling into his irises.”

The author is spellbinding and pulls your right in and I was entirely invested in the characters feelings and the outcome of the story. Not to mention that this is based on true Minnesota crimes. ( #truecrimeaddict ) And what makes a book great to me? Picturing the characters in my head from head to toe, and I give it 5 star character development! When I read I tend to assign actors/actresses to main characters. A constant movie reel inside my head.

This book truly takes you straight into the story. So if you want to cozy up and leave reality for a bit. PICK THIS BOOK UP!

SYNOPSIS: its 1977. Think: small town, everyone knows everyone. It’s summertime in that small town and everyone wants to go swimming in the quarries or head out to the county fair. Not to mention the tunnels beneath the city that need exploring. But for three best friends, its not all fun and games. They have seen something they shouldn’t in the depths of those tunnels. One goes missing and the other two are harboring a secret that they believe is connected to their friends disappearance. The pair go into “Shelby Holmes” mode and everyone they know looks guilty. Including the police. Suddenly only one of the three is left standing and she knows who is next.
