The Santa Suit

-genre: Holiday Romance

-novella: 207 pages

by: Mary Kay Andrews

This was a really quick novella that was easy to read but left MUCH to be desired. The heroin was pretty lovable, and she managed to do so many great things for other people. The magical element was that she kept blaming it on "the Santa suit", and it just fell flat. It didn't feel magical in the moment. It seemed silly. There was zero spice, and the romance was fluff at the back end. Also: my main concern with this book was that there were MANY mentions of other characters body weight and size by other characters and body mentions in a negative light. There was actually a character who was not eating, for days, because she was trying to lose 10 more pounds. At 207 pages, I don't think I wasted my time, but i do wish i spent my morning reading something else.

I don't think I will read anymore holiday romance or romance for a while, and I will not be picking up anymore MKA books again. If that's your cup of tea, go for it! This did not hit the mark for me.
